GYROTONIC® Method

  • The Gyrotonic method is performed on custom-designed Gyrotonic equipment, and exercise sequences are composed of spiraling, circular movements which flow together seamlessly in rhythmic repetitions with corresponding breathing patterns. Each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression.

  • Clients love this "swimming on land" method of movement, which simultaneously lengthens and strengthens the body, stimulates circulation and enhances joint mobility. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, agility, strength and flexibility.

  • The Gyrotonic method was developed by Juliu Horvath, an ethnic Hungarian and professional dancer from Romania. Horvath suffered a series of debilitating injuries during his dance career and began developing what are now known as the Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis Methods as a way to heal himself and regain his strength and agility.

GYROKINESIS® Method

  • Gyrokinesis is practiced on a mat and chair without equipment. Classes can be adapted to fit anyone's ability. Without the feedback and guidance of equipment, participants in a Gyrokinesis class are more dependent on their own proprioception to explore movement sequences.

  • The Gyrokinesis Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences.

Focus on the breath stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system resulting in a sense of calm, well-being and mental clarity.

By the end of a Gyrokinesis session, one's entire system is awakened and brought into greater balance.

  • The Gyrokinesis method was developed by Juliu Horvath following a series of debilitating injuries during his dance career. Though this method, he healed himself, regained his strength and agility, and created the world’s most intelligent movement system.
